About
I currently live in Loudoun County, Virginia where I have observed first-hand the impact that data centers have on county residents.
These observations raise a lot of questions for me. Because of that I’m taking a deep dive into the world of data centers including policy, technology, energy, planning, money and politics and launching The Data Center Report. The goal is to shine some light and provide solid information for those interested all things data centers. Think policy, technology, energy, planning, money, and politics.
I’m a science writer, a scientist, and a survey researcher. I’ve worked for organizations like Science, the journal of the American Association for the Advancement of Science; the National Academies; and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. As a science writer I’ve covered research in biology, ecology, environmental science, engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics and chemistry. I’ve also covered science policy issues on Capitol Hill. As a survey researcher I’ve worked in the areas of environmental science, social science, epidemiology, and education. I’ve spent too much time in school. I have an M.S. in zoology from the University of South Florida in Tampa and a M.A. in political communication from American University in Washington, D.C.
Welcome to The Data Center Report.
